Just a week after completing my Zion to Arches Hike (more content on that coming soon — I promise!), I got an impromptu invite to join a float trip down Cataract Canyon. It was my first real white-water trip and it was awesome. We began by motoring down Meander Canyon and through Canyonlands National Park before getting to the real rapids. It was cool to be on sections of the river that I’d seen before while walking the rims high above. The Colorado was only running at 13,000 cfs so it wasn’t too crazy — but it was still a thrill riding the front of a catamaran raft through the “Big Drops” of Cataract Canyon. Thanks to Nick at Backcountrypost for putting the trip together.
