A good petroglyph panel can be found just east of where the Hayduke Trail<\/a> <\/strong>descends into the Barracks<\/strong> <\/a>and meets the East Fork of the Virgin River. It makes for a worthy short diversion before heading down canyon toward Zion. It’s about 1\/4 mile upstream and slightly hidden behind brush on the north side of the river. Locate it by going one bend\/crack up river from the confluence with Rock Canyon<\/strong>. Once in the right spot, the two-part large, cluttered, and slightly weathered panel can’t be missed. \u00a0There is supposedly more rock art in the bottom end of Rock Canyon itself, but I’ve never seen it and have only explored just above the spring in the lower end of the canyon.<\/p>\n
